Our Process

Our Practical Land Retirement method follows best practice project management methodology.

  • Plan

  • Plant

  • Profit

We developed the Practical Land Retirement method to give you all the information you need upfront. So you can make fully informed decisions on how to invest for the future of your land and your family.

The Practical Land Retirement Method

  • The first step in the process is for us to understand what you want to achieve for your land and future.

We help you to determine if forestry in the ETS is the right fit for you. We’ll run you through how the process works, timeframes and the returns you can expect.

The land assessment will identify areas on which may hold unclaimed carbon credits. Then we’ll look at marginal and riparian areas and their suitabliity for establishing native carbon forest. We’ll suggest tree species and planting methods to suit your soil and climate.

Our approach is to listen carefully to what you need for profitability and what you want for your family and legacy. Then we aim to help you to move from where you are now to where you want to be.

  • Next we translate the brief into visual concepts so you can see how the land is affected. We map the farm, existing forest, wetland and riparian areas, then proposed new forest areas.

Once we have an idea of the total land area to be planted we can calculate indicative pricing for planting per hectare, returns and fees

By the end of this stage you will have a clear idea of suitable forest types, costs to establish, potential returns and available funding sources for the project.

Based on the indicative cost and returns, you can make educated decisions on whether to move forward with the project.

  • We’ll help you secure funding for your project from our database of funding sources.

We manage the entire establishment process, from site preparation and supply of seedlings to planting.

With our low cost planting methods, your funding goes up to 6x further than with conventional planting methods.

New forest areas are mapped using GIS technology and we get you set up to start receiving returns from carbon.

  • You’ll start to earn returns from carbon credits.

Forests established using our methods can receive up to 300% higher returns than conventional native planting.

Ongoing management ensures the new forest remains compliant.
